eSellerate Releases Major Upgrades
(LINCOLN, NE - USA) – The latest release from eSellerate includes major upgrades in the following areas:
- Native Currency Pricing
- Streamlined SKU management
- Redesigned reports
- Other changes
Native Currency Pricing
Native Currency Pricing (NCP) is the ability to price items in non-USD currencies. You can use this option to supplement the default pricing method, which involves setting a single price in U.S. dollars, and allowing eSellerate to convert that price for non-USD currencies as needed.
To understand this option, remember that the base currency for all pricing in the eSellerate Sales Manager is USD. For instance, when you set up an item such as a SKU or a volume discount, you enter the USD price. If you enter no additional prices for the item, eSellerate uses the USD price as the basis for converting and displaying prices in non-USD currencies.
NCP is a way to prevent the conversion of prices from USD to other currencies. With NCP, you set the exact price that your customers will pay in a given non-USD currency. Some advantages of this option include:
- There are none of the odd amounts that sometimes result from currency conversions.
- You can advertise the prices, because they won't vary according to exchange rates.
The updated Sales Manager allows setting NCP for any of the following items:
- SKUs
- Volume Discounts
- Cross-Sell SKUs
- Coupons
- eCD
- Up-Sell SKUs
To access the new pricing options, locate the SKU Management section of the Sales Manager home page, and click Pricing. Be sure to review the provided online help.
Streamlined SKU management
Another significant aspect of this release involves SKU management. To make SKU setup and maintenance more streamlined, we have consolidated the setup UI within the Sales Manager for products and SKUs. All settings that were previously available for products are now available in a new SKU configuration section. We retained all functionality that was available for products.
Some changes to note about this consolidation are:
- You now assign serial numbers to SKUs, rather than products.
- Default product downloads are now default SKU downloads.
- A per-SKU order e-mail notification replaces the option that was previously available for products.
To make the transition from products to SKUs as seamless as possible, we have updated all your existing SKUs that had product associations. For example, if SKU X previously was associated with Product Y, we have merged all settings from Product Y into SKU X.
In addition to the product-SKU consolidation, the new UI includes the ability to add a SKU to multiple Web Store or Embedded Web Store eSellers at once.
To access the new SKU management features, go to the SKU Management section of the Sales Manager home page, and click SKUs. Then click New to display the SKU Detail page, where online help will be available.
Redesigned reports
In preparing for this release, we identified the reports that receive the most use, and redesigned them to provide more of the information you need. The improvements include:
- Consolidation of a number of reports to make it easier to find more information in one place
- File export options for reports that previously offered HTML output only
- More comprehensive and useful results, such as these changes for the SKU Sales by Date Range and Payment reports:
- Listing Net Coupons Amount
- Making the Net Revenue figure account for all adjustments
The new reports and their notable changes are:
1. SKU SALES BY DATE RANGE
The new SKU Sales by Date Range report eventually will replace these existing reports:
- SKU Sales by Date Range
- eSellerate Affiliate SKU Sales by Date Range
- SKU Sales by Tracking ID
- Basic Affiliate SKU Sales by Date Range
- Portal SKU Sales by Date Range
- Channel SKU Sales by Date Range
2. TRANSACTION LEDGER
The new Transaction Ledger report can list transactions in three different ways:
- By date range
- By payment ID
- By unpaid items
The option to list transactions by unpaid items eventually will replace the existing Future Payment report.
3. PAYMENTS
The new Payments report eventually will replace the existing Payments Due and Payment History reports. Also, we have left a “Future Payment” link on the Payment Reports page. Clicking that link runs the Transaction Ledger sales report with "All Unpaid Items" selected as the Transaction List Criteria.
Another change is the consolidation of all HTML output into one table.
4. ORDERS BY PAYMENT TYPE
This all-new report allows you to compare the number of payments by credit card to the number of payments by PayPal on a given transaction date.
NOTE: To allow you time to make the transition to the new reports, the legacy reports will remain available through 9/30/2006. During that transition period, you can access these reports through “Previous Version” sections at the bottom of their respective reports pages.
Other changes
- To supplement the new pricing options, we’ve added a Pricing Reports tab, which introduces these new reports:
- SKU Pricing by Currency
- Volume Discount by Currency
- Cross-Sell Discount by Currency
- Coupons by Currency
- Up-Sell Discount by Currency
- Other all-new reports related to currencies are available in the Sales Reports section:
- SKU Sales by Currency
- SKU Sales by Country
- Because some functionality of the Sales Manager relies on pop-up windows, we recommend that you always allow pop-ups from that site (https://publishers.esellerate.net).
