eSellerate Announces VAT Compliancy
Lincoln, NE, -- eSellerate, a leading software commerce provider, today announced that it has expanded their vast offerings of e-commerce solutions to include the handling of the European Union's Value Added Tax (VAT). The VAT enhancements are designed to comply with European Union (EU) directives that require the collection of VAT on sales of digital products and services to EU customers from both EU and non-EU vendors.
The new rules are scheduled to go into effect July 1, 2003.
"With the new directives of the European Union regarding VAT, it has become increasingly difficult for software companies of any size to handle the taxation on their own. eSellerate is now able to handle the details of calculating, collecting and remitting VAT for our customers," said Patrick Smith, vice-president of Sales for eSellerate. "Anyone selling digital goods to and end user in the EU will have to pay VAT for that sale. We provide this service for our customers, taking the burden off of their shoulders."
eSellerate’s VAT handling capabilities are part of a major release of their e-commerce system that also includes enhancements to their product activation solution, coupon services, admin and sales reporting, and web store customization.
