As well as processing customer transactions for all major credit cards, eSellerate supports the option of being able to purchase your products using PayPal. Whether or not this option is right for your customers is determined by you and is easily integrated into your Web Store.

Below is a list of answers for questions you may have about this service:

Do I need a PayPal account in order for my customers to use that payment option?
No. As a publisher with the eSellerate system, you are not required to have a PayPal account in order to offer this payment option to your customers.

Can I have my payments sent to a PayPal account instead of a bank account or sent via check?
Yes. However, in order to receive your monthly payments via PayPal, you are required to adopt PayPal as a payment option in your Web Stores or Embedded Web Stores.

How do I change my monthly payment option to be paid via PayPal?
Contact your Account Executive stating your intentions and provide them with the e-mail address of the PayPal account that you would like to have the payments made to. You will receive a confirmation e-mail when the change has been made.

Do I need a PayPal account in order to receive payments from eSellerate?
Yes. In order to receive your monthly payment via PayPal, you must have an active PayPal account. You may use an existing PayPal account.

Is there a charge for receiving my monthly payment into my PayPal account?
Yes. There is a $5 processing fee for each payment made into a PayPal account. This amount will be adjusted on the payment voucher at the time it is created.

Is there a threshold for receiving my monthly payment into my PayPal account? Yes. You must have earned at least $100 in order to receive your payment. Also, due to PayPal payment restrictions, payment of more than $10,000 will be made in multiple payments. For example, if your monthly payment is $17,000, you will receive two payments into your PayPal account: one for $9,999 and the other for $7,001.

What do I need to do in order to offer my customers the ability to purchase via PayPal?
The ability for providing PayPal as a payment option is only available by using eSellerate's Custom Web Store feature. In order to provide this payment option to your customers, you will need to set up a Custom Web Store and assign it to your Web Store eSeller. If you already have a Custom Web Store or Embedded Web Store set up, refer to the eSellerate User's Guide on how to add it to your layout.

What steps do I take to set up a Custom Web Store so that I can have the PayPal option?
Setting up a new Custom Web Store is as easy as selecting a default layout, uploading a banner, and assigning it to your current Web Store. Please refer to the eSellerate User's Guide for detailed instructions or contact support at support@esellerate.net.

Which eSellers support the PayPal payment option?
The PayPal payment option is only available within the eSellerate Custom Web Stores and Embedded Web Stores.

Are there additional charges for customers using the PayPal payment option?
No. There are no additional fees to your customers.

What happens when a customer chooses to purchase via PayPal, but doesn't have a PayPal account set up?
Your customer will be given the opportunity to either return to your web store and choose another option, or set up a PayPal account and continue on with the purchase process.

What currencies can be used to make a purchase via PayPal?
Currently we support the following currencies: United States Dollar, Canadian Dollar and Pounds Sterling. Additional currencies will be available soon.

Can PayPal be used for subscriptions or recurring billing?
No. Although this feature is supported by PayPal, because of security measures the eSellerate system does not store credit card numbers and therefore does not allow for recurring billing.

Are there any security/fraud issues with adopting the PayPal payment option?
No. Not only is the purchase being screened via eSellerate methods, but by PayPal's as well.

Can purchases be made through Phone/Fax via PayPal?
No. Phone/Fax orders are for credit card processing only.

If a customer chooses the PayPal payment option, does the sales process continue the same as with standard payment options?
Yes. With the PayPal option, the only difference in the payment process is an additional account verification/authorization step. All processes that occur using a standard payment method (serial number generation, e-mail notification, etc.) will still happen.

Is the PayPal payment option available to sales initiated by Affiliates?
Yes. As long as you have adopted the PayPal payment option into your Web Store or Embedded Web Store.

How should I promote PayPal purchase options?
You can promote the PayPal purchase option any way that you see fit. We have provided some icons below that you may use on you web site.
