eSellerate Provides AquaticPrime Integration and Extends Serial Number and Web Analytics Capabilities
We would like to tell you about our latest release, which extends your options for Standard Enhanced serial numbers to include AquaticPrime integration and a Prompted Data feature. We’ve also added dedicated tracking variables that you can use for web analytics.
Highlights from this release are below. For more information, please see the release notes, which are available for downloading here.
AquaticPrime Integration
A few months ago, we redesigned the serial numbers interface to make it easier to use. With this update we’ve extended the functionality of Standard Enhanced serial numbers, by allowing you to generate license files for use with the AquaticPrime framework.
Standard Enhanced is our “recommended or preferred” registration option. It provides strongly encrypted serial numbers whose validator is available through our SDK. Because the serial numbers are always unique, they also work seamlessly with our anti-piracy technology, eSellerate Product Activation. If you’re not already using Standard Enhanced for its advanced security features, the ability to work with AquaticPrime may be another reason to make the switch.
When you set up this new option for your serial number sets, order receipts and confirmation e-mails will provide a link to allow the customer to download a license file. How your customers use their license files is up to you.
AquaticPrime integration is an option for Web Store and Embedded Web Store eSellers only.
Prompted Data Feature for Standard Enhanced Serial Numbers
In addition to the AquaticPrime enhancements noted above, we’ve added a Prompted Data feature to Standard Enhanced serial number sets. You can use this feature to base your serial number generation on customer input. Your web stores (standard and embedded) will then prompt customers to enter specific information as part of the purchase process.
New Tracking Variables for Web Analytics
We've added 13 new variables specifically for use with tracking. These new variables can only be used on the receipt page of Custom Layouts, and include “Tracking” in their names to differentiate them from variables that you would use for display or other purposes.
Also note:
- Some of these variables are duplicates of ones that you may already be using to track web statistics, while others are all new.
- One new feature is the ability to convert currencies back to U.S. dollars. Tracking variables that refer to currency amounts (such as _TrackingItem.PriceEach) will return the U.S. dollar amount, regardless of the currency that was selected in the shopping cart.
- If you’re using existing eSellerate variables for tracking purposes, we recommend updating your Custom Layouts to use the new variables. Please see the release notes for details.
