eSellerate Releases Enhancements for XML Order Notification
Wed, March 19, 2008

eSellerate today released enhancements to its options for real-time XML order notification. The update offers software developers these advantages:

  • More complete order information – newly added fields allow you to track activity related to subscriptions, returns and voids, in addition to all the data that was previously available
  • Continuing updates on order status – you can now receive a notification for virtually every change in order status, including those affecting subscriptions, returns, voids and fulfillment
  • Subscription details – the new reporting options for subscriptions include notifying you when a subscription is new (active), renewed, canceled, suspended or expired

Additional changes include:

  • Order notices for returns can be separate from the notices for all other supported events, such as new orders and changes in order status.
  • You can include secret text in the XML data that you manually post from the Maintenance page. This change enables the manual posts to include the same information as the automated ones.
  • We have updated and expanded our code examples, which now cover classic ASP, ASP.NET, XSLT, PHP and Ruby on Rails.

If you are using the previous version of the XML order notice, this release will not affect any of your processes. To allow you time to transition to the new version, we are keeping version 1 available until sometime in the third quarter of 2008. (We will let you know the actual date for removing version 1 once we have scheduled it.) In the meantime, you will be able to select version 1 or version 2 for receiving the notices, and for manually posting them through the Maintenance page.

You can start taking advantage of the extended data and features of this release by switching to version 2 now. For more information, log in to your eSellerate account and click Contact Information. Then go to the XML Order Notice section, where online help will be available.

Other Report Enhancements

As noted in a previous e-mail message, this release affected the format of the following report files:

  • Daily Summary Export (available through Sales Reports)
  • The automated daily summary report file (available through Contact Information)

To provide more reporting options for subscriptions, we have added the following fields to the end of these report files:

  • ORDER_METHOD
  • ORDER_SUB_METHOD
  • CURRENCY_CODE
  • SUBSCRIPTION_ID
  • SUBSCRIPTION_STATUS

As always, our support team is available to answer any questions you may have about this release. You can direct your inquiries to support@esellerate.net.
